Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in signing Crystal Palace’s Jason Puncheon during the January transfer window.

A number of Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting to the reports emerging from The Sun on Sunday (16/09; page 63) at the weekend which suggested that Aitor Karanka is interested in signing Jason Puncheon on loan in January.
Puncheon has fallen out of favour at Crystal Palace. His only appearance so far this term came in the Carabao Cup, and he came close to leaving the Eagles during the summer.
The Sun on Sunday reports that Aston Villa and Middlesbrough both saw moves for the midfielder fall through in the final hours of the window, and Forest are seemingly hoping to capitalise on their inability to get a deal done.
The Sun on Sunday (16/09; page 63) reports that Forest are keen on signing Puncheon on loan once the winter window opens. And the reports have been met by a mixed response.

Puncheon – who earns £35,000-a-week, according to Spotrac – is not in Roy Hodgson’s plans right now, but he has previously been a key man for Palace. And that is perhaps why there are some supporters who are delighted to see Forest target the winger.
But there are plenty who believe that the club are making a mistake targeting another Premier League player whose best years are possibly behind him, rather than put some faith in some of the talented youngsters coming through at the City Ground.
