The Northern Ireland international, who has been on the books of Forest since 2015 following his departure from Derby County, worked under McClaren at the Rams.

Ward, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, has struggled to make a huge impact at Forest and spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Burton Albion.
The former Aston Villa prospect spent the second half of the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Cardiff City, having joined the Bluebirds on loan in the January transfer window.
