The Reds Twitter site urged fans to raise their scarves for Martin O’Neill’s first game in charge, but some supporters did not seem too keen on the idea.

Ahead of Martin O’Neill’s first game as Nottingham Forest boss, the club has made a request for the fans to carry out on matchday, but it has been met with some disapprovals.
O’Neill, who played 371 games for the Reds and helped them win back-to-back European Cups in 10 years as a player, became the club’s successor to Aitor Karanka on Tuesday.
The Forest job is the Northern Irishman’s first return to club management since his spell with Sunderland earlier this decade, which saw him guide the Black Cats away from relegation from the Premier League in his first season.
On Friday, the day before the Championship game against Bristol City at the City Ground, the Forest Twitter account asked the club’s fans to loft their team scarves in the air for the first Mull of Kintyre rendition in front of the returning Reds icon ahead of the game.
Some fans seemed to appreciate the idea, sharing images of their own scarves or simply agreeing:
