Stephen Henderson’s injury left Gary Brazil with a straight choice to make ahead of Nottingham Forest’s trip to Fulham on Tuesday.

With Dimitar Evtimov confirming his own absence on Twitter last week, Forest’s interim boss was left with only Vladimir Stojkovic, who has been so far unconvincing, and Jordan Smith, a youngster with only 67 minutes of league football to his name, as options in goal.

Ultimately, it was perhaps the Slovenian’s experience which saw him restored to the Reds’ starting eleven after seven games out – though in the eyes of many Forest fans, his exile should have been extended infinitely.

In fairness, there wasn’t a lot Stojkovic could have done about the first two goals scored by Fulham. However, his attempt to prevent the Cottagers’ third in a 3-2 win for the hosts left much to be desired.

With the emergency loan window abolished ahead of the current season, this is unlikely to be the end of Stojkovic of Forest, unless a free agent takes Brazil’s fancy.
