Nottingham Forest suffered defeat at the end of a bad week at the City Ground. Cardiff City won 2-1 with goals from Aaron Gunnarsson and Joe Ralls proving the difference.

A late penalty from Henri Lansbury dragged Forest back into the game but, unfortunately, the damage had already been done.

Forest were certainly not helped out by the red card for Finnish defender Thomas Lam. The summer signing from PEC Zwolle lost possession in his own half before dragging back Craig Noone and picking up a deserved red card.

The summer signing had yet another poor game for the club and Forest fans are beginning to lose faith in the newbie.

In fact, they have already lost that faith. His performances, especially when at the heart of defence, continue to bemuse Forest fans.

They are at a loss to understand why Forest continue to play the 22-year-old at the back instead of the experienced Jack Hobbs.

In holding midfield, he seems a good option. But at the back he is not what Forest need right now and Philippe Montanier is being urged by Forest fans on Twitter to see the light…
