Nottingham Forest fans were impressed with Ryan Yates’ display for Scunthorpe United.

Nottingham Forest supporters have praised the performance of Ryan Yates in the play-offs for Scunthorpe United.
Yates was selected to start in Scunthorpe’s 2-2 draw with Rotherham United yesterday, and the youngster continued to impress.

The defensive midfielder started this season out on loan at Notts County, before making the switch to the Iron, and he has adapted to League One football with ease.
There are now high hopes for Yates’ future at the City Ground, with many Forest fans tipping him to break into Aitor Karanka’s side next season.
Whether Karanka does intend to use Yates in Forest’s first-team next term remains to be seen.
If the youngster is made available for loan again there is sure to be no shortage of suitors for his services, but he appears to have the talent to make the step up to playing Championship football.
Forest have shown a willingness to promote their youth products, and Yates could be next to benefit from the Reds’ faith in their youngsters.
Yates’ Scunthorpe side will play the second leg of their play off tie against Rotherham on Wednesday.
