RB Leipzig picked up a 1-1 draw away at Koln on Sunday afternoon – and the day will undoubtedly be remembered for Oliver Burke’s first start and goal for the club.

One of German football’s most hated clubs due to their meteoric rise to the Bundesliga being funded by Red Bull, Leipzig have impressively made an unbeaten start to life in the top flight for the first time.

Wins over Borussia Dortmund and Hamburg have been particular highlights, and on Sunday they travelled to take on Koln away from home.

The game saw winger Oliver Burke make his first start for the club since signing from Nottingham Forest at the end of last month, and he made it an afternoon to remember.

With just four minutes on the clock, Burke was played in on goal and slotted home calmly, scoring his first Bundesliga goal in his full debut to once again underline his massive potential, before Leipzig eventually conceded and drew 1-1.

Having also grabbed an assist against Borussia Dortmund, Burke has made a stunning start to life in German football – but former club Nottingham Forest have struggled since his departure.

Forest have drawn twice and lost three times in all competitions since selling Burke, and it’s clear that fans are still disappointed with owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi for his decision to sell the young Scot.

After the 19-year-old had scored his goal against Koln, Forest fans took to Twitter to react, with many suggesting that his personal success and Forest’s recent struggles underline just how bad of a decision it was to sell him.

Others believe that £13m simply wasn’t enough for Burke, with some merely congratulating him and preferring to watch him develop rather than look at what might have been…
