Nottingham Forest released Mustapha Carayol.

Nottingham Forest made the move to terminate Mustapha Carayol’s contract yesterday in order for him to find a new club.
The former Middlesbrough and Leeds winger was not part of Aitor Karanka’s plans and Forest felt their best option was to release him by mutual consent.
The club announcement was greeted with delight by fans who felt Karanka’s ruthless streak should be appreciated, 24 hours after a terrible 3-0 defeat to Preston.
Carayol’s deal was set to expire in June anyway and this was in the interests of all parties, with a free agent switch to Ipswich imminent.

The Gambian winger made 15 appearances this season, scoring once and providing one assist, never being able to string a consistent run of form together.
His last start was back in December under former boss Mark Warburton and he was not selected in two of Karanka’s last three match day squads.
Carayol made 38 appearances for Forest in total, scoring three times.
His departure was welcomed by supporters, although some expressed regret that Carayol did not contribute more consistently.
Here is a look at the reaction from fans…
