Nottingham Forest beat Newcastle 3-1 at the City Ground.

Karl Darlow had a night to forget for Newcastle United on his return to the City Ground.
Facing his former club Nottingham Forest, Darlow conceded three goals as the Toon were dumped out of the Carabao Cup.
Darlow is Newcastle’s back-up goalkeeper to Martin Dubravka and there is a chance this is Darlow’s last first team appearance for several months.
The 27-year-old left Forest in a double deal with Jamaal Lascelles which was agreed in 2014 before the pair moved a year later.
At the time Darlow was playing more regularly of the two, but it is Lascelles who has blossomed into a first team star for Newcastle.

Darlow is merely a back-up, and his performance against his former club did not help his case.
He was chipped in injury time by Forest star Gil Dias as the home side iced the game and sealed a 3-1 victory.
Forest fans were not exactly lamenting his departure last night and did not have kind words to say about Darlow’s performance…
