Murphy featured for Championship club Forest against Premier League outfit Burnley in a pre-season friendly match between the two sides at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
The game finished in a 1-1 draw. Murphy put the Reds in the lead just past the half-hour mark, and Andre Gray equalised for the Clarets in the second period.
Forest fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of the 34-year-old, who can operate as a striker or as a winger, against Burnley at the weekend – they were impressed.

Murphy joined Forest from Newcastle earlier this month for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £2 million.
The former Sunderland man joined the Magpies from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2016 and helped Rafael Benitez’s get promoted to the Premier League.
The 34-year-old made five starts and eight substitute appearances for Newcastle in the Championship last season, scoring five goals and providing one assist in the process.
