Costel Pantilimon has returned to Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis following last season’s loan.

A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight after the club confirmed on their official website that Costel Pantilimon has signed a three-year deal with the Championship side after returning on a permanent basis.
The 31-year-old joined the club on loan during the January transfer window and seemed to win many of the supporters over despite only making 13 appearances for Aitor Karanka’s men. A permanent move was certainly one that the City Ground supporters had hoped to see.

And whose who wanted the former Manchester City ace to return have been granted their wish with the club confirming on their official website that he has joined from Watford permanently for an undisclosed fee.
It has unsurprisingly gone down extremely well on social media. Forest have not held back so far this summer, with the Romanian becoming the club’s eighth signing of the window with Joao Carvalho and Michael Dawson also amongst to have joined permanently, while Diogo Goncalves and Gil Dias have both arrived on loan.

Their business not only sends out a fantastic statement after several underwhelming bottom-half finishes in the Championship, but the timing of their dealings suggests that Karanka is going to be extremely happy with his squad long before the new season kicks off – and that can only be a good thing as Forest look to end what will become a two-decade wait for top flight football next summer.
The fans are obviously delighted, and many have actually suggested that Pantilimon’s return is perhaps the most important deal that the club have done so far this summer with the goalkeeper undoubtedly set to be amongst the best in the division next term.
Here is what some of the Forest fans made of the completed deal…
