Nottingham Forest are set to have to fend off interest from Middlesbrough in Britt Assombalonga.

Nottingham Forest fans are concerned, following the rumours linking Middlesbrough with Britt Assombalonga.

Sky Sports say that Garry Monk will make Assombalonga one of his first targets at Boro.

And Forest fans are now fearing the worst, as they don’t believe the 24-year-old will be sticking around at the City Ground.

Forest are likely to be looking for a big fee for Assombalonga, who has established as reputation as one of the most clinical forwards in the Championship.

The former Peterborough forward may have struggled with injury in recent times, but he was still a prolific scorer over the past campaign.

Assombalonga averaged a goal every 130 minutes over the past campaign, and he netted 14 times in total for Forest in the Championship.

If Forest did lose Assombalonga it would be a major blow for Mark Warburton’s plans, as he prepares for the new campaign.
