The City Ground academy graduate is impressing for both the Reds and for his nation, scoring the winner for the U21s yesterday.

A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Reds prodigy Brennan Johnson’s match-winning performance in Wales Under-21’s 1-0 victory over their Belgium counterparts on Friday.
The City Ground academy graduate, son of legendary Forest goal machine David Johnson, made his debut for Paul Bodin’s side in a Under-21 European Championships qualifying clash with the Red Devils at Wrexham’s Racecourse Ground.
Johnson did not take long to make his mark on the game, scoring inside the opening three minutes as he pounced onto a loose ball to slot past Belgium goalkeeper Mile Svilar from close range, and near the end of the first half the 18-year-old went close again.
Sebastiaan Bornauw, Lois Openda and Louis Verstraete went close for the visitors while Regan Poole, Dan Mooney and Mark Harris nearly doubled Wales’ lead, but in the end Johnson’s contribution proved crucial as the young Dragons’ new manager was given a winning start.
Johnson’s stock has been steadily rising this season, having been utilised in three games by Sabri Lamouchi (Transfermarkt) and, following his latest exploits at international level, some Trickies fans rejoiced on social media:
