Nottingham Forest are reportedly on the verge of signing Alan Hutton on a free transfer this summer.

A number of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from The Sun this weekend which have suggested that Martin O’Neill is closing in on agreeing a deal to sign Alan Hutton on a free transfer this summer.
Hutton is a free agent after leaving Aston Villa after helping Dean Smith’s side secure promotion to the Premier League this past season. The former Scotland international made 33 league appearances, and wrote his name in Villa folklore for the stunning solo goal in the win against Birmingham City.
But it appears that he is going to have plenty of work on his hands if he hopes to win over the majority of Forest fans.
The Sun has suggested that a move to the City Ground is close after Hutton spoke to a number of Championship clubs about a potential move following his release by the Villans.

O’Neill has struggled to silence his doubters during the opening months of his tenure at the City Ground, and it seems that those concerns about the direction the club is going in have not been alleviated by the links with Hutton.
There are some supporters who believe that he could be a shrewd addition on a free transfer. But the large majority seem extremely underwhelmed by the links and have expressed their frustration about the club’s interest in the 34-year-old.

Here is what some of the fans made of the reports…
