A number of Nottingham Forest fans are not happy with Ben Brereton leaving for one of their Championship rivals.

Nottingham Forest have seemingly got very little wrong during the summer transfer window, with plenty of exciting players arriving through the City Ground door ahead of Aitor Karanka’s first full season in charge of the club.
Forest have perhaps not made the kind of start that many expected – they have already drawn four league games, whereas they did not play out their first stalemate until December last term – but it would surprise few if it soon all clicked and the club were very much in the promotion picture in the Championship.
Nevertheless, Karanka has seemingly put a little more pressure on himself with the news that the club announced on their official website this week that Ben Brereton has left to join Blackburn Rovers on an initial loan which includes an option to buy in January.
Brereton has long been deemed one of the most exciting talents in Forest’s ranks. His goalscoring record is currently underwhelming for a player with his potential – he has scored eight Championship goals in 53 appearances – but many believe that he could have become a key player in the future.

There are some who feel that Brereton is unlikely to realise that initial potential, and thus feel that the move away will not hurt Forest too much, but the majority appear to be less than happy.
Some have criticised Karanka as they feel that Forest’s remaining attacking options are not so strong that the side will not miss the youngster and many are expecting the decision to come back and haunt the club in the future.

Here is some of the reaction to the announcement…
