The Nottingham Forest goalkeeper is due to spend a week with Barnsley.

Nottingham Forest fans are reacting after Reds goalkeeper Jordan Smith joined Barnsley on loan.

Smith has signed a week-long deal with Barnsley, who have been left without a senior shot-stopper after Adam Davies’ international call up and Jack Walton’s subsequent injury.

That allowed the Tykes to bring in emergency cover, with Forest’s third choice the player chosen after playing just 33 minutes of football this season.

Smith, who progressed through Nottingham Forest’s academy system, appeared 47 times for the Reds over the previous two campaigns, bringing with him a decent amount of experience to Barnsley.

But what do those who have watched the 23-year-old throughout that time make of his move?

Thank ****

But not all Forest fans are quite so scathing about Smith, with one posting:

Smith is expected to make his Barnsley debut against Accrington Stanley on Saturday, although it remains to be seen if his deal will be extended to cover next week’s visit of Doncaster Rovers.

Is Smith’s Nottingham Forest career as good as over?
