Former Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio helped West Ham United secure a draw against Liverpool on Monday night.

Nottingham Forest fans on Twitter have lauded Michail Antonio for his performance during West Ham’s 1-1 draw [BBC Sport] with Liverpool on Monday night.

The 28-year-old powerhouse, who used to play at the City Ground during his younger days, netted the equalising goal in the first half to dent the Reds chances in the title race.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring for the away side when he spun his marker to fire his team in front, but replays showed that James Milner, who provided the assist from the right-hand side, was in an offside position.

Eight minutes later, following a well-worked free-kick, Antonio slipped past his marker, Naby Keita to net the equaliser in what was a precise finish.

As you would expect, some Forest supporters on social media were pleased for their former player, who was clearly well-liked by those at the club.

Some lauded him for having a say in the Premier League title race, with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool three points clear of second-placed Manchester City in the table.

During his time at Forest, Antonio played 54 games for the Midlands club, scoring 19 goals and supplying his teammates with 15 assists, according to transfermarkt.

Since moving to East London from the City Ground in 2015, the versatile attacker has played 117 games, finding the back of the net on 25 occasions and proving 15 assists along the way.
