Nottingham Forest fans are hoping that Mark Warburton makes a move to sign Bournemouth’s Benik Afobe.

A sizeable chunk of Nottingham Forest fans are hoping that Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe will be the man they get to replace Britt Assombalonga.

HITC reported on the news that Assombalonga is heading to Middlesbrough for a medical today, with his transfer edging ever close.

Forest are set to land a big fee for the striker, who is regarded as one of the most prolific scorers in the Championship.

Replacing Assombalonga will be a tough task for Forest, but supporters of the Midlands club have their eye on Afobe.

Afobe has struggled at Bournemouth, since making the step up to the Premier League.

But the rapid forward has previously proven to be a major weapon at Championship level, during his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Forest also already have Jason Cummings available to them, with Mark Warburton likely to hope that the former Hibernian man can step up to help fill the void left by Assombalonga’s impending departure.

Assombalonga netted 14 goals in 32 matches for Forest last season.
