The former Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper is reportedly catching the interest of Forest, but the Reds don’t need the Liverpool man.
Nottingham Forest fans could be forgiven for being surprised when they saw the news that the Reds are lining up a loan move for Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan, as reported by the Daily Mail, as goalkeeper is probably the last position on the pitch they need to strengthen.
The 29-year-old shot stopper, who spent time on loan with Wigan Athletic last year, suffered a knee injury which has ruled him out since November, but he’s now back at full fitness and is expected to be made available to loan again by Liverpool.

However, considering Forest have Jordan Smith and Stephen Henderson on their goalkeeping books, a move for Bogdan – even on a temporary basis – seems very strange, as it’s highly debatable that he’s actually better than what the Reds already have.
Henderson may have started the season in a rather suspect fashion, but this was due to a lack of fitness and when he was called upon again later in the season, the Republic of Ireland stopper was excellent for Forest, making a number of key saves when called upon.
As for Smith, while the young goalkeeper only made his debut towards the back end of last season as he filled in for the injured Henderson, he soon set about proving why he deserves his chance with several excellent goalkeeping displays, and fully deserves to be the club’s number one at present.
With that in mind then, it seems a bit bizarre that Forest boss Mark Warburton is interested in taking Bogdan to the City Ground, as those financial resources would be better off being spent elsewhere.
