Forests’ star man could be set to make the short move across the East Midlands in the summer.
You don’t need to know the ins and outs or the intricacies of this most traditional of rivalries to know that Nottingham Forest’s captain really should not be considering a move to their time-honoured enemies Derby County.
Not just out of fear for his own health and well-being but out of loyalty and respect for his current employers. If he has any that is. Initial reports suggest that Henri Lansbury is, indeed, a truly ‘modern footballer’ in the worst sense of the term.
The Forest playmaker, either their driving force or a part-time mercenary depending on who you ask, is out of contract at the end of the season and The Sun claim that Derby are rubbing their hands together amid the prospect of stealing their rivals’ talisman without paying a penny.

Furthermore, The Sun add that Lansbury is open to a potential betrayal, with the chance of spearheading Derby’s belated promotion push proving a lot more tempting than pulling his weight in Forest’s relegation battle. Did we mention he is their captain?
And it seems his apparent lack of loyalty hasn’t gone down too well on either side of the Brian Clough divide.
