Nottingham Forest defender Michael Mancienne is set to sign a new deal with the club, with his previous contract expiring in the summer, according to the Telegraph.
The 29-year-old, who has made 28 appearances for Forest in all competitions this season, has had a question mark over his future for quite a while now, with many fans unsure as to whether the former Chelsea man would stay at The City Ground beyond this season.
However, it now seems that Mancienne will be prolonging his stay with Forest beyond this campaign, with the defender remaining on Trentside for another two years following the contract extension.
Initially it seemed as if Forest were holding back on offering their out of contract players new deals until they were safe from relegation – with Dani Pinillos, Chris Cohen and David Vaughan in particular all out of contract in the summer – but new boss Mark Warburton has clearly made his mind up early regarding Mancienne.

It seems as if Mancienne will sign regardless of what division Forest find themselves in next season, with the Reds just three points above the drop zone with two Championship matches still to play.
The former England U21 has played 97 times for the club in all competitions to date, and often in a variety of positions with the versatile centre back also playing at right back and defensive midfield at times.
