Nottingham Forest talent Frederick Fisker has been discussing his future at the club. The teenage Dane has been at the club since September 2014. The Danish youth international arrived at the club from Viborg and was hoping to find himself a first-team future at the City Ground.
However, as he has explained to Viborg Folkeblad, that will not be happening.
He has confirmed that he will be leaving Forest at the end of the season when his contract at the club expires:
“I feel that the time for a move away is just right now. I have spoken to my agent that I did not get quite the same challenge and not developed enough for me. I miss being able to go home from training and feel that I have improved. So it makes sense that I now have to try something else.
“It must be said that the club has been extremely good to me. I have developed quite game much since I came. And I’m super happy with the people I have worked with along the way.”
Fisker did go on to explain that Premier League champions Leicester City had been taking notice. He has spent two spells on trial with the club this year but while he has been told that the Foxes cannot offer him a contract at present they will be monitoring his progress.
What next then for Fisker?
Talented as he may be he found players such as Joe Worrall and Anel Ahmedhodzic ahead of him in the pecking order and a future at Forest always looked like it may become unlikely.
He will now be hoping to find himself a new club in England to call home in the summer.
