Nottingham Forest want Che Adams but Southampton are ready to resist their advances unless a truly irresistible offer arrives.

Forest have enjoyed a very productive window so far and shave strengthened their squad brilliantly since winning promotion.

Dean Henderson, Giulian Biancone, Moussa Niakhate, Neco Williams, Omar Richards and Taiwo Awoniyi have all joined Forest.

Steve Cooper and co still want more new additions though and they seemingly fancy landing a Premier League striker to support Awoniyi.

Nottingham Forest want Che Adams

Southampton ace Adams is thought to be on Forest’s radar with The Express reporting their interest.

It’s stated that Forest understand it will be hard to land Adams – and Southampton don’t want to sell.

The Saints will allegedly resist Forest’s advances for Adams unless they make an offer considered to be ‘irresistible’.

Southampton paid £15million to sign Adams from Birmingham back in 2019 and he is under contract until 2024.

Southampton would surely expect to get their money back and then some, leaving Forest staring a fee of more than £20million needed for Adams.

The Saints have lost loanee Armando Broja back to Chelsea whilst Adam Armstrong is likely to be available for loan.

Southampton can’t then afford to let Adams go, especially to a Premier League rival who may be around a similar spot in the table.

Adams, 25, notched seven goals and three assists in 30 Premier League games for Southampton last season.

The Scotland international is a nuisance in attack, possessing pace, strength and pressing ability even if the goals haven’t always flowed.

You can certainly understand why Forest would fancy Adams; he has Premier League experience and would offer a more proven option than the exciting yet raw Awoniyi.

Adams also hails from the East Midlands in Leicester and played for Ilkeston – just outside of Nottingham.

That move may appeal to Adams but unless Forest offer a huge fee, it doesn’t look like this deal will be happening.
