Nottingham Forest’s Britt Assombalonga celebrates scoring their fourth goal
Nottingham Forest boss Philippe Montanier has told BBC Nottingham Sport that the club and its followers need to be more patient regarding the fitness of star striker Britt Assombalonga.
The goal machine has not featured for Forest since the 4-3 win against Wigan Athletic on the 20th August.
The striker’s absence has certainly concerned Forest fans, especially given his recent injury record.
Forest had to make do without Assombalonga for over a year when he suffered a dislocated knee-cap. Now his current absence has Forest fans concerned something similar might be occurring.

But Montanier made it clear that his return to first-team action was simply an act of patience for the club.
He stated:
“It is good news because it is not very serious. But the pain is a handicap for him to run at this moment.
“For this moment we have to be patient. It is very difficult to see which moment, which day, he can train with us.
“But he works hard for that and we will see in the next weeks.”

Assombalonga is undoubtedly Forest’s main goal-getter. He has already netted three goals in three games for the club – prior to picking up his latest injury concern.
Forest have luckily seen Greek striker Apostolos Vellios start finding the back of the net. They also signed Nicklas Bendtner on a free transfer – as they added depth to a fragile attacking department.
When Assombalonga is back, Forest will certainly have a mean looking striking outfit.
