The Danish striker was stretchered off during Nottingham Forest’s win against Birmingham City on Friday.

Philippe Montanier has delivered the verdict on Nicklas Bendtner’s injury, via Nottingham Forest’s official Twitter account.
Bendtner was stretchered off with a serious looking ankle injury during Friday night’s 3-1 win against Birmingham City.

A subsequent X-ray allayed fears the Danish striker had suffered a break, however, although an official diagnosis could not be provided.
Montanier has since confirmed he expects to be without Bendtner for three to six weeks, but is hopeful that the summer recruit will return at the sooner end of that time frame.
The Frenchman was quoted as saying by Forest’s official Twitter account:
On a more pleasing note, however, Montanier confirmed the return of another striker Britt Assombalonga to his squad to face Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night.

Assombalonga, who missed much of the previous two campaigns through injury, has scored three goals in as many Championship appearances this term but has spent the past two months on the sidelines.
Montanier added:
According to the Sun, Forest could appoint former Premier League goalkeeper Brad Friedel as director of football if their proposed £50 million takeover goes through.
