Chris Cohen is back whilst Nicklas Bendtner is taking strides, but Britt Assombalonga remains absent.
Nottingham Forest manager Philippe Montanier
Nottingham Forest boss Philippe Montanier has given a fitness update ahead of his side’s meeting with Norwich City in the Championship this weekend.
The Frenchman was speaking at his press conference, in which he laid on a fabulous French cheese spread for the assembled media, when he confirmed one player would be back for the game but that another would still be absent.
Nottingham Forests’ Chris Cohen in action with Leeds United’s Chris Wood
Chris Cohen, who has been out with a calf injury recently, is expected back for the game. However, Britt Assombalonga will remain absent:
Cohen’s recovery is good timing, with Matty Cash now out of action for an extended period with a knee problem.
The continued absence of their main striking option will no doubt be a big blow for Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest’s Nicklas Bendtner
They did of course recently acquire Nicklas Bendtner on a free transfer to try and add goals to the group.
But the Dane was lacking match sharpness after several months without a club. He made his debut v Rotherham United in midweek and Montanier believes he is on the right track for recovering his full fitness:
Apostolos Vellios once again looks likely to be leading the line for Forest and will hope to have a similar impact to last weekend – when he scored a screamer against Aston Villa.
