Nottingham Forest were recently left reeling by the departure of their number one goalkeeper and last season’s player of the year as Dorus De Vries headed to Celtic.
The Dutchman joined the Scottish champions, managed by his former Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers, to challenge Craig Gordon for the number one spot at Celtic Park.
It was a move that Forest would not have wanted, especially the fans, who have got used to the dependable Dutchman between the sticks.
Forest manager Philippe Montanier, himself a former goalkeeper, has now been speaking about the sale.

He confirmed to the Nottingham Forest official site that it was a tough decision to sell De Vries, but that he had to be sold as a matter of respect:
“It was a tough decision to let Dorus de Vries go but we have to respect a man who gave everything for the club.”
Forest now need to find themselves a new keeper. They signed Stephen Henderson in the summer but are still desperately short in the keeping position – with Montanier even joking this week that he had taken to training to see if he could fill in.
Whoever does get the job will have big gloves to fill in those of De Vries’.
