The Frenchman is already considering his options for the transfer window.

Nottingham Forest boss Philippe Montanier has been discussing the club’s January transfer plans today in his pre-match press conference ahead of the clash with Preston North End this week.

Forest have recently got themselves back on track with some excellent performances in the Championship, although they slipped up against Derby County at the weekend.

That performance showed that Forest still need to make some improvements to the squad and the Frenchman told the official Nottingham Forest website that he had ideas about what to do in the transfer window:

Forest have some injury problems that might be worrying Montanier at the moment. Henri Lansbury is out for a number of weeks with a hamstring problem and Britt Assombalonga is injured again. Chris Cohen is also out and Forest clearly need to strengthen in defence as well.

If they can do good business in January then there is little doubt that Forest might be able to make a move toward the play-off places.

However, if they stand still, the relegation places are still not beyond them in the Championship this season.
