The new signing wore the armband against Burton Albion this afternoon.

Nottingham Forest ended their losing streak today, although will have wanted more from their 0-0 draw with Burton Albion. However, considering they were down to ten men for over an hour, following the straight red card shown to Eric Lichaj, it was a decent result for Karanka’s men.
After the game he spoke to BBC Nottingham Sport about the result and also went into detail about his captain of choice.
Forest are without club captain Chris Cohen due to his continuing injury trouble. That has seen them have to decide on a new skipper and after the game Karanka insisted he wanted a dressing room full of captains, but that new signing Ben Watson would be leading the side out:
“Watson is the player who is going to wear the armband but I want five or six players captains in the changing room.
“One day Ben won’t play and we’ll need another one. It’s important for me for Watson is a captain with and without an armband.”

Forest snapped up the midfielder on a free transfer this month, after Watford cancelled his contract to allow him to make the move.
Watson, who has experience at a host of levels, was seen as a good recruit by Forest but it is strange to see a brand new signing immediately handed the captaincy at a new club.
But with his experience and leadership qualities not many Forest players can match him, and Watson can hopefully lead Karanka’s men back up the Championship table.
