A deal certainly looks like it will be done but Karanka was not ready to divulge too much information about the deal. He told BBC Radio Nottingham:

“I don’t know. We’ll have to wait a bit. The squad we have now is really good. If Ben is here he knows he’s coming to a good squad.”

Watson would be a great addition to the Forest team, adding to the club’s long list of recent recruits. The experienced midfielder has played at a high level on a number of occasions with several different clubs and would bring some nous and tenacity to the heart of the Forest midfield if he does indeed arrive.

Karanka is playing it cool and keeping his cards close to his chest but Forest fans will hope to see Watson come through the door sooner rather than later.
