Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka has admitted to BBC Radio Nottingham that Joe Lolley did not play as well against Norwich City at the weekend as he has done in recent matches.

Forest suffered a 2-1 defeat to Norwich at the City Ground in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Lolley started the match and played for 70 minutes when he was substituted for Diogo Goncalves.

Forest manager Karanka has explained his decision to take the 26-year-old winger off, and has admitted that the former Kidderminster Harriers midfielder – who joined the Reds from Huddersfield Town in January 2018 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Bet to be worth £500,000 – did not play as well against Norwich as he did in recent games.
