Nottingham Forest and Leeds both have ambitions of promotion.

The Championship is so unpredictable year to year that a mid-table team one season can quickly transform into champions the next, with the right summer strategy.
Both Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have high ambitions of following Wolves’ quick turnaround in fortunes which led them to the Premier League last year.
While Leeds appointed big name new manager Marcelo Bielsa, their transfer business has been slow, so far.

Leeds have made only one signing, bringing in Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker on loan.
By comparison Nottingham Forest are leaving them behind. Yesterday they clinched their eighth signing of the summer.
Forest’s eighth signing was Watford goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon, a player in a position where Leeds themselves need to strengthen.

Aitor Karanka’s side have also signed Benfica pair Diogo Goncalves (loan) and Joao Carvalho, and Algerian striker Hillal Soudani.
They also signed left-back Jack Robinson on a free transfer, Gil Dias from Monaco, and veteran Michael Dawson on a free transfer.
It is an impressive haul and there could be more, with ex-Leeds right-back Sam Byram linked.
Both Leeds and Forest finished well short of the play-off places last year and major moves were required to get them into the promotion race.
Forest have made theirs, and while Leeds still hope to sign Matej Vydra and a host of names, the Whites at present are being left behind.
