Nottingham Forest’s reward for beating Millwall in the second round of the EFL Cup this week is a home tie against Premier League big guns Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger’s men travel to the City Ground on the week beginning September 19, hoping to avoid elimination as they did against Sheffield Wednesday last season.

The match is a great chance for Forest’s player to test themselves, and while Arsenal will likely field a weakened side, there is likely to be a raucous crowd hoping to see the home side pull off an upset.

One player especially delighted with the draw is midfield ace Henri Lansbury, who began his career with Arsenal.

He responded to the draw on Twitter to express his excitement.

If Forest fans were concerned about losing Lansbury before the transfer deadline, this should help ease any fears, with the midfielder surely now given one added reason to stay put.

Lansbury made his Arsenal debut at the same stage of the competition, a 2007 third round League Cup tie against Sheffield United.

After four loan spells at various clubs he signed for Forest in 2012 and has remained put ever since, and the 25-year-old will surely relish the big stage to try and put one over on his former club.
