Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale has confirmed to Sky Sports that he is not suffering with any injury issues.

Bale was subbed off in Wales’ match against Belgium last night, as the match edged towards the closing stages.

Given Bale’s fitness concerns, it is always a worry when the Tottenham man doesn’t stay on.

But when asked about his fitness after the game, Bale confirmed that he was just tired and wasn’t suffering with injury.

“Nothing’s wrong,” he said. “3-1 down with five or six minutes to go, I was a bit tired from the shift I put in, and we have two more games to go, so no injury problems.”

The news will come as a relief to both Tottenham and Wales.

Spurs will surely be desperate to keep Bale fit, given his form in recent weeks.

The 31-year-old may have been dropped from Tottenham’s most recent starting line-up against Aston Villa, but he has showed his most productive run of form since his return in February and March.

Bale played fairly well for Wales yesterday too, despite their defeat.

The Spurs loanee set up his country’s goal with a lovely exchange of passes with Harry Wilson.
