Emile Smith-Rowe has told the National that he doesn’t know if he will be at Arsenal next season.
Smith-Rowe has been loaned out to Huddersfield Town this term, and he has quickly caught the eye in the Championship.
Arsenal are set to extend Smith-Rowe’s loan spell with Huddersfield until the end of the campaign, before Mikel Arteta gets a closer look at the playmaker in pre-season.
Arteta has already been very willing to give Arsenal’s most promising players chances in his side’s first-team.
But Smith-Rowe admits that he isn’t uncertain whether he will be Arsenal next season or loaned out again.
“Nothing has been confirmed yet,” Smith-Rowe said.
“The main thing is to finish the season with Huddersfield as strong and as well as I can and then go back to Arsenal in pre-season and we will see what happens.”
If Smith-Rowe does depart Arsenal in the summer it will surely only be on a temporary basis.
The England international is very highly regarded at the Emirates Stadium, and has been touted as a potential future star.
Smith-Rowe has shown great composure despite his tender years at Huddersfield, and already seems perfectly capable of playing senior football.
If Mesut Ozil does leave Arsenal in the summer there could even be an opening for the teenaged midfielder, if he does impress over pre-season.
