David Ginola has told talkSPORT (11/08/21 at 8:45 am) that there is ‘nothing’ Daniel Levy can do if Harry Kane wants to leave Tottenham.

But the former Spurs superstar made it clear that if Levy wants Tottenham to win trophies then he needs to keep Kane and ‘invest’ in better players.

These final few weeks of the season are huge for Spurs because there will be worry that their star man could still leave.

Ginola shared his thoughts on the current drama unfolding at Hotspur Way and how Tottenham need to act like a ‘huge club’.

“If Harry Kane has made his mind up about leaving Spurs then there’s nothing you can do about that because the pressure is on the club, on him and the players,” said Ginola.

“This is a problem. You are starting the season and you always want to start the season on the good foot. I think the situation about Kane and Tottenham, it’s about the entire club. And a question of respect as well.

“Tottenham is a huge club now. For Harry Kane, does he want to stay at Spurs and make them great?

“For Daniel Levy, it’s a huge task because the fans are waiting for the decision and hopefully the decision will be for Harry to stay because if you want to win trophies then you need to keep the best players and invest in other players.”

Manchester City won’t be going away, and after bringing in the £100 million Jack Grealish, the Premier League champions will show their financial muscle again.

God knows where FFP is in all of this, but perhaps it’s being sympathetic towards the Abu Dhabi-owned club because they only won the Premier League title and League Cup last season.

Not forgetting that they reached the final of the Champions League.

Perhaps signing Kane would allow them to get at least one goal in a European Cup final, but something suggests they aren’t spending enough money, surely they need to go again?

After all, what can nearly spending 1bn get you?!
