Sam Allardyce has claimed that there is ‘nothing wrong’ with Harry Kane wanting to leave Tottenham before the summer transfer window slammed shut, as he told Sky Sports.
The former Premier League boss was told about Kane’s comments on transfer deadline day live on Sky, where the Tottenham man told BBC Sport that he has a ‘clear conscience’ about what happened this summer.
After Euro 2020, Kane’s future dominated proceedings with suggestions that he wanted a move to Manchester City and Pep Guardiola openly admitting that he wanted to bring him to the Etihad.
In the end, the England captain put it in black and white on his Twitter account that he is staying at Spurs this summer.
Following those comments from Kane, where he also stated that ‘everything that went on with the club is between me and the club and that’s the way it will stay’, Allardyce was asked to share his thoughts on what he was hearing from the Englishman.
“He didn’t get the move because nobody could hit Mr Levy’s price,” said Allardyce. “Obviously, Mr Levy’s price tag would be inflated.
“Other than that, the only way a player gets away is by making a complete and utter problem at the football club, which Harry just can’t do. It’s not within his nature. Not within his professionalism and the way he handles himself.
“He has handled himself really well. There is nothing wrong with him asking to leave the football club. The one sticking point, I would have said that would have really put the nail on the head with it is, him actually writing a written transfer request.
“Everyone goes on about his age now, he’s 28, but that’s the prime of your career. And lots of teams have gone on and spent a lot of money on players in and around that age. The goals he scored is invaluable.”

These past few seasons have been indifferent for Tottenham and the club hasn’t reacted well to that Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in 2019.
But with Kane still on board, a new manager at the helm, fresh new faces brought in, this is Tottenham’s chance to move forward again.
Three wins from three is the perfect start for Nuno Espirito Santo and his star man up top hasn’t even got his engine running yet.
It will be interesting to see what type of role Kane plays for Spurs this season because Jose Mourinho brought out the creative talent from the Englishman’s boots, so can he continue that under Nuno’s stewardship?
