Tottenham Hotspur were soundly beaten by Leicester City last night.

Spurs ace Dele Alli addressed the media following his side’s bitterly disappointing 2-1 defeat away at Leicester City last night, and admitted that he and his teammates were quite simply not good enough, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Tottenham are currently sitting in fifth position in the Premier League table, and could be 16 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, if Pep Guardiola’s rampant side take all three points against Southampton at the Etihad tonight.
The Lilywhites began their 2017/18 campaign full of hope and vigour, and despite some incredibly strong showings in the Champions League, they have faltered in recent weeks domestically, having won just once in their last five Premier League outings.

Last night’s defeat at the King Power Stadium would have been a real hammer blow to Mauricio Pochettino’s troops, with the Premier League title now seemingly a distant fantasy.
And Alli did not hold back in his assessment of his side’s performance last night, suggesting that they never should have allowed themselves to go in at the break two goals down, as quoted by TottenhamHotspur.com:

“It was a very disappointing performance from us in the first half. We should never have been in the situation where we were two goals behind and having to work that hard to try to get back into the game. We know the quality we have and it’s nothing to do with that in the first half. It’s not good enough.”
Next up for Alli and co is a trip to Vicarage Road to take on Watford in the Premier League on Saturday, and nothing less than a win will do.
