Michael Owen told Premier League Productions that both Liverpool’s Alisson Becker and Manchester City’s Ederson would save Calvert-Lewin’s equalising goal at Manchester United on Sunday.
Everton recorded a 3-3 draw against Manchester United, with Man City then putting four past Liverpool the next day.
In both games, the goalkeepers were talking points, with Alisson’s two out-of-character blunders proving to be costly.
And, before that, De Gea being questioned in regards to how he handled Calvert-Lewin’s stoppage-time equaliser, as Everton recorded an enthralling 3-3 draw at Old Trafford.
Former England striker Owen thinks that if either Alisson or Ederson are in between the sticks at Old Trafford then they both prevent the Everton man from putting the ball into the back of the net.
“I think the equalising goal of Calvert-Lewin’s, the Manchester City goalkeeper and the Liverpool goalkeeper both save that,” said Owen.
“I think they are both aggressive and brave goalkeepers, who would hurt themselves to stop the ball.
“I think they make themselves big. They dive at Calvert-Lewin’s feet and as much as you think ‘Oh, he should have saved that’ because it’s not a mistake as such.
“I think the great goalkeepers make something out of nothing. They smother that before it becomes a chance. I think their bravery is certainly a notch ahead of David de Gea’s there.”

Well, it just so happened to be that a day after De Gea was being questioned, Alisson had a game to forget.
The £67 million shot-stopper (Sky Sports), who has been near-on faultless since he stepped foot into Anfield, was at fault for two of the four goals his side conceded.
Many are now questioning whether the likes of Liverpool and Man United are now out of the title race given Pep Guardiola’s side form and current lead.
