Jermaine Beckford has stated on Instagram that you are ‘not wrong’ after it was put to him by a fan that not even Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo would get ahead of Leeds striker Patrick Bamford in the Premier League.
Bamford has proved many people wrong this season, and after two testing seasons in the Elland Road spotlight, he is now a Premier League footballer with the Yorkshire giants.
There’s no doubt that Marcelo Bielsa will stick with Bamford next season, just like he has stuck by the Leeds man ever since he walked through the doors.
Nonetheless, after Leeds were crowned champions yesterday, Beckford reacted on Instagram. The following was put to the Whites legend:
‘I heard you are out of contract @jermainebecks83, but you won’t replace Bamford, even if Messi or Ronaldo came to Leeds’.
Beckford responded by simply saying: ‘Not wrong’.
Leeds earned promotion to the promised land on Friday and they topped it off by becoming champions of the Championship yesterday – all thanks to dropped points from West Brom and Brentford.
They can now go into their match against Derby today with their heads held high and with the possibility that the home side will give them a guard of honour.
That in itself would make headlines simply because of what happened between the two clubs last season.
