Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter insists he’s “not worried” over reports linking Yves Bissouma with Arsenal and Liverpool, as reported by Sussex Live.

The Seagulls may have won only two of their ten Premier League games this season, a record that has them hovering just above the relegation zone, but perhaps the table does lie after all?

Brighton are one of the most watchable teams in the division and, if points were gained through aesthetics alone, the South Coast club would be battling for Europe rather than trying to keep Fulham and West Brom at arms’ length.

Bissouma, a tenacious but technically gifted playmaker, has come to epitomise the progressive, ball-playing style Potter has brought to the Amex since replacing Chris Hughton in 2019.

And, according to talkSPORT, his increasingly influential performances have caught the eye of Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp needs a long-term replacement for the soon-to-leave Gini Wijnaldum and Bissouma, a £15 million signing from Lille, caught the eye with a magnificent display in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with the champions.

“To be honest, I have never been a coach that worries about losing players,” Potter says. “If you are losing players to teams higher up in the hierarchy – because that’s ultimately what it is – and the club thinks it’s the right thing to sell the player, I think it’s a result of something you have done well.

“I don’t think you should ever worry about that. It is part of football. It is what it is.

“And a lot of it is talk. A lot of it is speculation. A lot of it is nonsense. But there’s always truth as well somewhere, so who knows?

“But I’m not worried about anything. I’m just helping the players improve, helping them get to the highest level of performance they can, and then we will see.”

Talksport adds Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is also a big fan of Bissouma.

Brighton, meanwhile, are also having to deal with speculation surrounding Ben White, Tariq Lamptey and Solly March as January looms.
