Newcastle United and Manchester United are among those interested in signing Goncalo Ramos.

Last month, it was reported that Newcastle were keen on signing the Benfica hitman, who has eight goals in 12 outings across all competitions this season.

However, earlier in the week, 90 Min claimed that Manchester United had entered the race to sign the 21-year-old in January.

With a European powerhouse like Bayern Munich also touted for winter interest, it could be very difficult for the Magpies or Old Trafford outfit to win this race.

But a Bild journalist has some very good news for the Premier League duo on this front.

Christian Falk has tweeted out that the Bundesliga giants are actually not interested in signing Ramos.

It’s definitely good news that Bayern aren’t interested because so long as a club like that aren’t in the equation, it’s beneficial for remaining parties.

It could still be extremely tough for one of Newcastle or the Red Devils to afford Ramos, however.

Well, more the Magpies.

That’s because the marksman has a £105 million release clause in his contract and the Portuguese outfit are planning to tie him down to a new deal very soon.

Newcastle might have the wealthiest owners in football, but it’ll be a while before they can justifiably sanction nine-figure transfer deals without breaching Financial Fair Play regulations in a massive way.

As for United, well they’ve had yet another massive expenditure during the summer transfer window and if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, and guarantee themselves a massive spike in revenue for next year, then spending in excess of £100 million on a single footballer might be difficult for them, too.
