Tottenham Hotspur picked up a comfortable win on Sunday afternoon – but few had Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg down to score.
Hojbjerg played a role in the first goal, threading a great pass into Harry Kane before he did the rest, finishing past Rui Patricio.
The Dane got himself on the scoresheet in the second half, scoring from close range after Patricio had parried Gareth Bale’s strike.
Tottenham’s top four hopes are still alive even if a little unlikely, but they did what they needed to do with a convincing victory.
Hojbjerg will be delighted with his goal and assist, taking his tally for the season to two goals and four assists in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old as enjoyed a great first season with Spurs, proving to be an absolute bargain having quickly become the heartbeat of their midfield.
He does most of his work protecting the back four and breaking up play, but there he was inside the six yard box from open play to follow up Bale’s shot.

Interim Spurs boss Ryan Mason told Football.London on Sunday that he wasn’t sure what on earth Hojbjerg was doing that far forward, but was seemingly delighted that he found himself there.
Mason praised Hojbjerg’s entire season, and felt that his overall game was on point against Wolves, not just his attacking output.
“Pierre has had a very good season for this football club,” said Mason. “I’m not too sure what he’s doing in the six-yard box to be perfectly honest but he felt it was right and that came from an excellent piece of play from Reggy as well. The desire never to give up and to compete for every single ball and that’s what can happen, you can create chances from that. So very pleasing performance from Pierre. Not just his goal and assist but overall I thought he helped the team and everyone collectively was very good today,” he added.
