Don Hutchison has backed David Moyes’ West Ham United to possibly sign Kalvin Phillips, with Declan Rice heading towards the other direction to Manchester City.
Declan Rice will leave the London Stadium this summer, with the West Ham chairman stating on live radio that he has played his ‘final’ game for the club, which was their Europa Conference League triumph.
Whilst many are expecting a move to Arsenal, for Hutchison, he dropped Treble winners Manchester City into the hat and how Kalvin Phillips going towards the other direction is ‘not the worst deal in the world’, as he told ESPN.

West Ham fans are accepting that Rice will head for the exit door and what a way to bow out following that Europa Conference League win.
But those in Claret & Blue expect big-money for their star midfielder, so in return, they can bulk up their squad.
Phillips’ name, like many others have, was thrown into the hat by Hutchison, on top of a wad of cash, with his England partner then moving to the Etihad.
“If Guardiola wasn’t signing Kovacic from Chelsea,” said Hutchison. “Then that would be an obvious move (Rice to Man City).
“If Ilkay Gundogan was moving on, then someone like Declan Rice and a little bit of money, well, a lot of money, and someone like Kalvin Phillips would be not the worst deal in the world for West Ham to take.”

Phillips should stay at Man City
West Ham need to get as much money, and more, as they can for Rice and forget about these player exchanges.
They hardly work, plus who says Phillips himself will want to leave after just one season at Manchester City? He signed last summer for £42 million (Sky Sports).
He has just won the Treble and, come next season, the former Leeds United man will want to play a more regular role in this all-dominant Man City side, so it’s probably best for all if he stays at the Etihad.
