Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Liverpool face a ‘really, really difficult’ clash against Leeds United, as he told BBC Sport.
The Liverpool boss also suggested that it’s not an ideal time for his team to play their rescheduled game against Leeds by stating ‘not that we want that game already’.
Marcelo Bielsa’s all-action Leeds side will travel down to Anfield on February 23, after their December fixture was called off because of COVID.
Whilst Manchester City are running away with it at the top of the table, they are still being chased by those on Merseyside.
Klopp spoke about the gap between themselves and the current champions. And facing a difficult game against Leeds along the way.
“It’s nine points, then it’s 12 points because most of the time they have played before us,” said Klopp.
“If we were to look at that then we would think ‘they are out of reach’. Then we win and there is a game in hand.
“But that’s Leeds at home. They fight for survival as well. It’s not that we want that game already.
“So, these things are really, really difficult. That’s why we don’t think really about it.”

It depends what kind of form Liverpool catch Leeds in because they can be prone to concede a few goals.
The Yorkshire side shipped six goals in two matches last week, including a 3-0 defeat on the blue half of Merseyside.
With Liverpool’s attack firing on all cylinders, this will certainly be a game where a lot of Fantasy Premier League users will captain the likes of Mo Salah and Diogo Jota.
Given the form the Reds are in, it’s an ideal opportunity for Klopp and his players to keep motoring forward and remaining on Manchester City’s tail.
