Tottenham Hotspur’s 4-0 win at Leeds United on Saturday was the final nail in the coffin for Marcelo Bielsa.
On Sunday, Leeds sacked their popular coach, with Spurs proving to be another team that were too hot to handle for this leaky Yorkshire defence.
Antonio Conte’s side, after beating Manchester City last week, then losing at Burnley in midweek, reversed back the other way by showcasing their attacking worth.
Prior to his sacking, Bielsa told Match of the Day that one of the reasons his side struggled against Spurs was because they ‘couldn’t manage to take the ball off them’.
Bielsa made it clear that Tottenham’s style was ‘not surprising’, as he praised the north London side for the manner in which they played.
“In the game, there were two clear defined styles,” said Bielsa. “We know clearly how Conte’s Tottenham play and obviously what we tried to do you can perceive it.
“The way they played was not surprising for us and we tried to overcome them.
“But we couldn’t manage to take the ball off them in the build-up, nor could we neutralise the influence of their forwards.”

The Premier League can throw up some crazy characters, from Bielsa to Conte.
In midweek, Conte was seemingly hinting at walking away before reassuring supporters that wasn’t the case less than 24 hours later.
Now that Bielsa is out of the door, not only will Leeds be worse off, but the Premier League also because he was a pure entertainer.
It’s something that Conte is providing, whether it be on the touchline or during his post-match interviews.
But, from the Spurs supporters’ perspective, they will be hoping their coach will be on their doorstep for the long run.
