Roy Keane told Super Sunday on Sky Sports that he’s ‘not sure’ Arsenal’s senior players will provide the ‘vital’ support needed to youngsters such as Buyako Saka.
The outspoken TV pundit shared that Arsenal’s senior group needs to be ‘looking after these kids’, both on the field, away from the pitch and in training.
But with Arsenal sitting mid-table in the Premier League this season, out of every domestic competition, it’s the academy stars that are trying to take them out of their hole, not those with experience under their belts.
And with the Arsenal young guns needing that senior support behind them, Keane cast doubt as to whether they will get the backing that they need.
“That’s where your senior players are vital at your club,” said Keane. “To help these young lads.
“You just hope Arsenal do have a group of senior players, who are looking after these kids, obviously not just on a matchday, but during the week.
“Getting them into good habits, training, being a proper professional and you hope Arsenal have that in their group. I am no so sure.
“But the bigger picture, to try and help these lads to have good careers, Saka and these boys, you want them to be good players for the next 10, 12 or 15 years. That’s where the senior players are vital and you hope Arsenal have that in their group.”

Alexandre Lacazette and Granit Xhaka have proven to be great senior pros for Arsenal and players who have stepped up during a difficult time.
Whilst Xhaka had his infamous moment, when he was Arsenal captain, he is still a leader without the armband, regardless of how things panned out during that match against Crystal Palace.
But when Arsenal fans are more worried when their youngsters get injured, than your senior stars, then you know there is a problem.
