Frank Lampard’s Everton ‘have not shown any signs’ of extending Yerry Mina’s contract as the former Barcelona defender faces up to an exit from the Premier League outfit, reporter Jorge Nicola explains on his official YouTube channel.
There are a host of players set to leave Goodison Park on free transfers next summer. And, in truth, very few will be missed all too keenly on Gwadlys Street.
Tom Davies has gone from bright-young-thing to a classic case of what-might-have-been. Abdoulaye Doucoure’s best years appear to be behind him. You could probably say the same of Andros Townsend and Asmir Begovic too.

A £28 million signing from Barcelona, meanwhile, has played just once in the Premier League all season long. A relentless and seemingly never-ending series of injuries have taken their toll on Mina’s reputation, with the now-28-year-old centre-half finding himself stuck behind Conor Coady and James Tarkowski in Lampard’s pecking order.
Frank Lampard’s Everton could get rid of Yerry Mina
Mina, per Spotrac, is also Everton’s highest earner, on a rumoured £120,000-a-week.
So who could blame the Toffees, really, if they opted to cut their high-earning, injury-stricken centre-back loose in the New Year?
“Everton have not shown any signs that they want to renew his contract,” Nicola explains. “Because of the injuries and the very high salary.”
Mina’s most recent appearance came during Everton’s humiliating 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup shortly before the World Cup break. The one-time Palmeiras giant looked a shadow of his former self on the South Coast; an alarming lack of pace playing leaving him noticeably vulnerable to direct running and agile movement.
According to 90Min, Everton could also look to move on from fellow defender Michael Keane.
The Toffees are in the market for replacements, with Udinese’s Rodrigo Becao high on their radar. The 6ft 3ins Brazilian appears likely to leave the Serie A outfit, contract talks having hit the buffers.
