Ally McCoist has claimed that he is ‘not shocked’ Joe Aribo is heading out of the Rangers exit door and joining Southampton, as he told talkSPORT.
The Ibrox legend added that the possible £6 million price tag for Aribo is ‘strange’ given that he has a £10 million clause in his contract.
When it comes to Premier League clubs, Southampton aren’t heavy spenders, nor do they splash big cash on individual players.

They are known to bring in rising stars or talented players on the cheap, then take their game to the next level.
If Aribo does swap Glasgow for St Mary’s, then he will be hoping to elevate his game even further, as McCoist shared his thoughts on his possible transfer.
“Yes (disappointed) he’s leaving,” said McCoist. “But not shocked or surprised. Joe Aribo goes with our thanks and blessings because he has been brilliant.
“We bought him from Charton a few years back. I think he has been fabulous. He’s blossomed and grown. I think he now has 20 odd caps for Nigeria playing top-class football, so if he goes to Southampton, then they will be getting a very, very good player.
“It’s strange, I don’t know why there is a £10 million clause yet it’s only £6 million. It’s a strange one that, isn’t it?! Maybe the add-ons (take it to £10m).
“Anyway, the bottom line is I would have no problem in speaking for the Rangers fans, if he does go, for thanking Aribo for his time at Rangers and wishing him all the best because he gave us that moment in the Europa League final.
“He has great feet – very, very comfortable on the ball. Really comfortable. Physically strong as well. He can shield the ball and he can finish as well.”

WHO WILL FOLLOW ARIBO OUT OF RANGERS?
Aribo isn’t the only one who could head for the Ibrox door this summer, with several of his teammates being tipped to leave.
Calvin Bassey’s name has popped up on the Premier League radar, namely with his former manager, Steven Gerrard, looking at him for Aston Villa.
Glen Kamara is another top player for the Gers, but could he also follow suit? He would be a bigger miss than Aribo if he leaves also.
Then there is Alfredo Morelos, whilst it’s not the Premier League, but Spanish giants Sevilla are being talked about as a possible destination for the Colombian.
