Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has told Football.London that he has not been too impressed by Matt Doherty so far this season.
Conte has said that he is not seeing the same Doherty in training who played well for Tottenham last season.
The Republic of Ireland international right-back played quite regularly at right wing-back for Tottenham under Conte last season.
However, the 30-year-old £14.7 million (The Guardian) player had a serious knee injury last season, and he is struggling because of that even now.
The Spurs right wing-back has played 22 minutes in the Premier League and four minutes in the UEFA Champions League so far this season.

Doherty made nine starts and six substitute appearances in the league for Tottenham last season.
The Republic of Ireland international scored two goals and gave four assists in those matches.
While Doherty is available for Tottenham now, he is not at the same level as he was last season, according to Conte.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte on Matt Doherty
Conte said: “Also Doherty last season played every game. Now I’m not seeing him in the right way to start the game.”
Staying positive
In our opinion, Matt Doherty should stay positive about earning his place back in the Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers star is a good player who knows the Premier League inside out.
What the 30-year-old needs to do is work hard in training and build up his fitness.
And be patient.
